Zambia, Ndola:

In the rural outskirt setting of Ndola, Charlie's Lunch has inaugurated its first feeding center on the continent of Africa. Local Pastor Christopher Mubanga is directing the new site, helping feed 80 children tri-weekly. This new feeding site "kicked off" with Charlie's Christmas last December, providing hot and healthy meals for the malnourished children.

Many of these children have been orphaned or given up to relatives, as the AIDS epidemic has claimed the lives of their parents. Charlie's Lunch is not only providing a balanced meal to the kids, but also teaching hygiene to combat the spread of infection. Starvation is also an epidemic in this region. "The Hunger in Africa is far worse than any other continent ... our sites and prayers are on Africa". -Sam Stewart
