El Salvador Locations:

12.06.2005 La California, Usulutan

In La California, El Salvador, in a town of approx. 2500 rich in coffee plantations located between steep, high points of volcanoes, Charlie’s Lunch opened a new center feeding for over 50 children. These kids live in tin shacks in this farming community with little to eat each day. Under the direction of Pastor Francisco, a new pastor and his wife are reaching out to the community and planting a new church with the tool of Charlie’s Lunch in their hands. This past summer, a Charlie’s Lunch mission’s team spent a day with about 250 children in the central park of La California performing as clowns, with puppets, stories, songs, candy and a message to adults and kids from the Word of God. About 15 individuals came to the front of the crowd after the message and asked for prayer. The new feeding center will equip this pastor with a method to reach this poor community on a daily basis where he has already begun a new work meeting in a church member’s home which is a tin shack with a large patio structure. With this new feeding center, the church is sure to grow and have an eternal impact in the community of La California.

03.27.2005 Agua Santas, Sansonate

Our 2nd newest feeding center in El Salvador is in Agua Santa, Sonsonate. Pastor Julio Marroquin and his wife Marina are feeding 50 children in this very needy area 50 miles west of the capital city, San Salvador. With a population of approx. 400 people in this very rural farming area, Charlie's Lunch is reaching out with a hot meal and a message of hope. This new feeding center opened in December with "Charlie's Christmas" and regular feedings, 3 times each week, began in January. Sam Stewart, Moises Ramirez, missionaries and local pastors all attended the inauguration of the center as they prayed and dedicated this missions work to God.

The Charlie's Lunch Feeding Center in Santiago de Maria, El Salvador is feeding 100 children three times each week. Pastor Francisco and his wife Asalia have seen tremendous growth in their church as they reach out to this community and feed hungry kids. Pastor Francisco says that his church now has over 500 members since Charlie's Lunch began. They have just built a new church building! They have 20 youth from their church who help to serve the food each day and a rotation of 40 mothers and volunteers who cook the food. His wife, Asalia, teaches the women the Word of God and the impact of this ministry is seen on the smiling faces of all involved.
