Charlie's Lunch currently has 10 feeding centers operating in India. Because of the overwhelming need for nutrition, due to malnourishment and starvation, CL meals are served everyday in 2 locations and every other day in 8. The Conditions in India are that of extreme poverty. The average wage is less than $1 for an entire days work. Hot and dry weather conditions plague much of India making manual labor even more intense. Adequate Hygiene within the community is mediocre at best. And India hosts the highest number of AIDS victims in the world.
The Mission to India is two-fold. By providing Children with a hot meal, and the message of Jesus Christ, CL is working to give hope to a nation in dire need.

Shravan Kumar oversees the Southeast region of India including 6 feeding centers, and CL's only orphanage (located in Gogannamattam, India). He is the Pastor of a 300 member church in Kadali, named "Miricle Church". Additionally, Miricle Church teams up with CL weekly to provide a special hot meal to 120 orphans every Sunday after church. Shravan's wife Sandya, son Joshua (12), and daughter Suzy (8) are praying for funding to build a $15,000 feeding/activity center for the surrounding community.
Lee Ruud is a missionary from San Jose, CA ministering in Hyderabad, India with his wife Pravena and son Jon (2).He oversees 3 feeding centers with Charlie's Lunch, including our Wardha site. He is the founder of Abundant Life Care Ministries.
