Managua City Dump
Charlie's Lunch opened another feeding center in the Managua City Dump area thanks to the generous donation from Victory World Prayer Center in Auburn Alabama. Thanks pastor Mark Jones!
This location began operating Friday Dec. 2 2005, feeding 50 of the poorest children in the area whose lives consist of ravaging through the garbage day after day along with their siblings, and their families. 1 block from the dump is a church pastored by Francisco Toruno and his wife Marta. They have been laboring in this church for years working hard yet to see a breakthrough in this difficult area. Leopoldo Valdez; Regional Director for C.L. out of Guatemala was there to get the feeding center started said; the pastor and wife have come alive after laboring with much prayer to have the privilege to be given this tool in their hands to reach their area community at the most basic level of need that is all around them. They are ecstatic at the possibilities and resources this gives them to make inroads into the homes and lives of this struggling part of Nicaragua’s capital city in Managua.
