The 5th CL mission team this summer went to San Pedro Sula, a major port city in Honduras, where they were involved in a construction project at New Vision Mission Center, a two-day pastors conference, a seminar for women and children’s book distribution.
The construction team installed a new tile floor and plastered the walls for a new CL feeding center, installed a concrete floor for the common area and laid two cement block walls for bathrooms and the front of the sanctuary.
“It’s not just a floor, but footprints in the hearts of our people and the neighborhood,” Mari Pastor, New Vision pastor, said when observing the new concrete floor in the church common area.

To prepare daily lunch for 55 kids, the CL feeding team for New visions had to set up tables and chairs every time in the sanctuary. That burdensome task has been eliminated with the remodeled feeding center.
That was used for storage space before the construction team on Team Five, headed by Jeff Ferree and Darrell DeVantier arrived at the scene. They laid wall for the back of the sanctuary and built walls for new restroom facilities.
At the feeding center dedication , Jeff, who has been on mission trips before, said, “I love to build for the Lord. (I have never) been able to connect with people the way I have this week. I’ll take more home than I brought.”
Darrell said here is where you “really see what missions work is all about. We will have something special to take home with us.
“The pastors who attended the conference, conducted by Glenn Beaver and myself, were very desirous of the information we shared with them, pastoral ministry, financial issues and stewardship,” according to Pastor Eddie Lee.
Pastor Lee was encouraged to see that the congregation of New Vision was excited about what God had been doing in their lives and the church. He said their pastor inspires her church members by her diligence and leadership She is also respected by her peers in San Pedro Sula.

Ladies from the community and New Vision attended a women’s conference led by Alicia Storbeck and Carol Brey-Casiano.
“It was a very powerful conference that focused on personal testimonies, and how our God wants to and can use us no matter what condition we come to Him in. Beginning with a fantastic time of praise and worship, and ending with a very personal, interactive representation of His forgiveness of our deepest, most well hidden sins, believers and non-believers were moved to tears,” Alicia said.
“Several accepted Christ for the first time, many received and accepted His forgiveness for their past, and all were empowered to share this message with others.”
