Working with Charlie's Lunch has become something near and dear to our hearts.The Stewart's make it an enriching experience to serve, and set an excellent example for all of us. Not only do they do a great job of training the staff world-round by pouring their love and appreciation into them (and the volunteers), but they encourage each person to experience God in a new way by listening to His heart for the children of the world. This summer in Honduras, we got to experience a new country and come to love the people of Zambrano and San Pedro Sula. As translators, the time we got to spend chatting about non-health related issues was very limited, but it was evident that Charlie's Lunch is doing a great work in the lives of the people they serve. The children who would otherwise be hungry and on the streets are able to find love, acceptance, and nourishment for both their bodies and their souls. Because of Charlie's Lunch, the families they serve have hope; they see a difference in their children and many come to accept Christ simply because someone gave their child something to eat. Jesus said "Whatever you do unto the least of these, you do unto me"; and Charlie's Lunch is doing a lot with the help of their supporters, volunteers, and staff. Many organizations are worthy of support, and Charlie's Lunch is one of the many, but few others offer the life-changing opportunity to go and serve where there is so much need. We can't think of anything we'd rather do next summer than serve with Charlie's Lunch!
